Police: Polk County man thought he was seducing child but was actually messaging detective

A Polk County man faces eight charges, including four felonies, after being arrested in a child sex sting, authorities said.

Terrell Allan Walding of Aragon was arrested Thursday after he allegedly tried to meet and molest a child, not realizing that he was messaging an undercover detective. Polk County police announced the arrest on their Facebook page.

“We are fortunate to have a detective who takes on these cases and is on the front line arresting these predators,” the post said. “If you have come after our kids, we will come after you!”

It’s unclear where Walding was taken into custody, and no other details on the case were provided.

According to county jail records, Walding was arrested on felony counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, sexual exploitation of children, criminal attempt to commit a felony and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

He also faces four misdemeanor charges, which includes furnishing obscene materials to a minor, suspended registration violation, suspended license violation and a drug container violation.

Walding remained in the Polk County jail Thursday evening without bond, records show. AJC.com has reached out to the sheriff’s office to request his mug shot.
