MARTA sets up bus bridges after woman hit, killed by train at North Avenue station

MARTA police have shut down train travel from the North Avenue station after someone “jumped in front of a moving train” and was killed Friday afternoon.

Atlanta Fire Rescue said the station has been closed after a woman was hit by a train. No other information was provided, but MARTA police Cpl. Brian Lauda said his agency is investigating.

The incident prompted bus bridges to be set up between the Peachtree Center and Arts Center stations, MARTA said in a tweet.

Trains are still running from the Airport station to Peachtree Center station and from the Arts Center station to the North Springs and Doraville stations.
