Beginning at 1 p.m. March 14, attendees from all around the nation are expected to gather in Town Center Park. The event is touted as the largest fest for craft beer in Georgia and doubles as a St. Patrick’s Day party.
“Recognized as one of the biggest and best craft beer festivals in the Southeast, the Suwanee American Craft Beer Fest attracts people from all over the country to claim their share of unlimited tastings of more than 350 craft beers. The event offers live music, games, local food vendors and a homebrew contest in Suwanee Town Center Park,” reads the event description.
General admission tickets are on sale now for $50 through Feb. 22. After that, prices increase to $55 leading up to the festival. If you miss out, tickets will go for $60 the day of the event. They include St. Paddy’s Day festivities like Irish dancers and bagpipe players. Live music from the Journey tribute band Departure is on tap along with games including giant Jenga and cornhole.
If beer isn’t your thing, vendors will offer wine samples, deals and giveaways. Don’t drink all that lager on an empty stomach either — local restaurants and food trucks are selling tasty offerings.
Indicating the popularity of the event, VIP tickets for the fest are already sold out. But those who snagged a $110 ticket get such things as entry at noon, access to limited, exclusive and rare beer, a private dining and tasting area, catered food from Marlow’s Tavern and a t-shirt.
While the fest won’t be short on fun, it’s also for a good cause.
Proceeds from the event will support Suwanee’s own Cooper’s Crew. The organization honors Cooper O’Brien, who died at 14 from a rare form of cancer that doesn’t usually respond to chemotherapy. Guest participation in the Suwanee American Craft Beer Fest benefits Cooper’s Crew Fund and the Cooper O’Brien Scholarship Fund.
